Why was my item Back-ordered?

Live Animals are not always predictable - just like people, you can plan for the worst, hope for the best and it still goes awry.  Our animals go through a multi-point inspection process and sometimes the stress of the shipping day is more then they can handle.  If an animal is not looking good we are not going to allow the animals to leave our facility.  The stress of transit is more than the animal will tolerate, therefore we would rather give that animal the best chance of survival.  The following statement should not need to be here, however so we are clear; AquariumDepot.com will NEVER include a dead animal in a shipment - within our warehouse that is grounds for termination.

If an item is back-ordered we ship the item for FREE and any other like animal can ride along for FREE as well. 
  • All back-orders are created on the Friday following your shipment date. Once the back-order has been created, you will receive an email notification that an order has been created.
  • You can use the code COMBINE once you are at the cart page of AquariumDepot.com to add items to the back-ordered item without incurring any additional shipping charges (unless the animal being added requires a faster shipping service then the animal which is back-ordered. 
  • If within TWO WEEKS the item(s) are still not available to ship, you will be provided a refund for the item(s);
    • Payments that include gift cards and/or coupons with credit card or PayPal payments will be returned back to the gift card/coupon prior to a returned reimbursement to your credit card or PayPal account
